Before you begin designing your garden, you should plan on how you are going to use the space. For instance, if you have a child, you can make the space into a playground or play area at the same time, a garden. Another example would be if you are going to use the space for a tool shed, then you can build your garden around it. Just make sure that everything you plan on doing will be within your budget.

Once you have figured out what you are going to do with the space, walk through the area and look at it from all angles to to make a list of all necessary aspect you are going to incorporate into the area and that there are no obstructions to your view or to your privacy.

After all the plans have been set, put it into motion. Also, set a deadline on when you will finish working on the area. The sooner you finish it, the sooner you can enjoy it.
